Interruption

Barbara was frustrated. As Batgirl, she was able to handle multiple criminals, and even help out busting Two-Face's gang and Gil Mason to boot. (Even if he did unmask her before falling into a coma.) But those two hoodlums the other day got the better of her when they cornered her with weapons in the middle of a fight and demanded to surrender her mask. Sure, she was still a rookie at the crimefighting business, but Barbara was confident she was skillful enough to avoid two criminals getting the better of her and getting her to unmask and expose her secret identity for any potential onlooker peeking from a window. Luckily, the criminals didn't recognize her, and hopefully no rumors will start to spread about her unmasking, even though the two got away with her mask, much to her chagrin. She couldn't even chase them down...not if she didn't want to risk further exposure of her secret identity! And much as she wants to look for leads to follow, she can't just go out as herself, and she still has to make a replacement mask for the one she lost as Batgirl. But as Barbara starts to go for her sewing machine nearby, the sound of knocking and opening of her apartment front door interrupts her in mid-planning. For a half-second, she instinctively feared it could've been those hoodlums, or someone from one of the buildings in that alleyway, until she heard the voice of her boyfriend Jason Bard. Still, this isn't the best time, as her Batgirl costume lays scattered across her bed and sewing machine out and prepared to take in some blue fabric, and she has to hide both quickly.
