Chihaya Anne AKA THG Kongō

The British-built Japanese battlecruiser-turned-fast battleship who is one of the most popular characters of Kantai Collection, this is the reborn THG Kongō, given the human name Chihaya Anne (written in Japanese as 千早 アン); her family name is taken from Chihaya Castle, which is located close to Anne's namesake mountain in the southern part of the Ōsaka Urban Prefecture in Kansai. When it comes to British-built or British-designed ships serving the Heavenly Sovereign of Japan, they always get English given names. Like her character in the game and anime series, Anne is truly a lady of two cultures; her "tag line" sobriquet monicker is "The Invincible Passion of Two Empires", which easily applies to her as "Man of Steel" would to Clark Kent (Superman). Atop the standard FISS-type and energy projection abilities all shipgirls get in The End of the Circus, Anne gets additional invulnerability, at the scale of someone like Hayashi Kanami (Mustang) or Faith Lehane (Wildflower). She sees herself both as a daughter of Japan and as a daughter of northern England; her linguistic capabilities are considerable even if she tends to slip in English phrases whenever she's going all out in Japanese and vice-versa. Atop that, she is the ultimate tea snob; heaven help ANYONE who's stupid enough to cause a ruckus during afternoon tea...never mind how Anne will react when someone tries to give her coffee! Like her other-self, Anne instantly became attracted to Moroboshi Ataru when they first met during the "extreme shipgirl" event in the latter part of August 2012. However, she owed a magical debt to the Taiwanese Ministry of Magical Affairs for housing her and her sisters Isabel (THG Kirishima) and Sarah (THG Hiei), both of whom had salvaged themselves from Ironbottom Sound in April that year and had come to Táiběi seeking their beloved sister out. Said debt was discharged by mid-September (around the time that Itō Yoiko [THG Yonaga] would present herself to the Heavenly Sovereign with a report about her long-missing crew), which saw the Chihaya sisters - joined by Heather (THG Haruna) - come to Ōmure-jima to be with Ataru and his sisters. And from that point on, Anne became a much-loathed "poacher" in the eyes of one Redet Lum, who hated the shipgirl "hussies" trying to steal her "husband" from her. But when your ship name literally means "adamantine"...!
