Front of her, Akizuki Ritsuko crouches low with one knee on the stones, glasses catching the jack-o'-lantern light, brown twin braids falling straight down over her shoulders, one hand steadying a large carved pumpkin so its flame shines up into her face as she tilts her head and looks up toward the lens. The fountain steps and the flagstone path are scattered with smaller jack-o'-lanterns in a rough path leading inward, dry leaves and twisted paper bats strung on a line between two bare trees behind them, and the bases of the trees hold small candles in jars. The jack-o'-lanterns and the string of candles are the practical light: a low warm orange pool rises from ground level onto each face and the undersides of costumes, while the full moon lays a cold blue rim along every shoulder, hat brim and hair outline, and the darkness beyond the trees stays deep and empty. Where the pumpkins sit, the flame inside makes their carved faces glow and shallow black shadows arc behind each on the flagstones. The palette is restricted to jack-o'-lantern orange, deep purple-black, bone-cream paper bats, and cold moon blue, with nothing green admitted except the leaves crunching underfoot. Rendering in clean cel-shaded anime lineart with flat watercolor-toned fills and crisp edge shadows, quiet warm hush against the night air, festive and mischievous.
