The camera looks down from above at a steep diagonal, tilted a few degrees off level, so the tall curvy woman lying across the castle's master bed fills the frame from her horns to her hips, her legs running away toward the lower corner in strong foreshortening. She lies on her back, spine in a long easy arch over the mattress, one arm flung up above her head with the wrist slack on the pillow, the other bent so her hand rests on her own ribs just under the hem of her black crop top, fingers relaxed and half-curled over the fabric; both shoulders sink into the mattress and the pillow compresses under the back of her skull. Her weight settles into the hips and the left thigh, one knee raised higher than the other so the black thigh-highs pull taut over the bent leg and bunch in a single soft fold behind the other knee; the black short shorts ride up at the hip and the crop top rides up to bare a strip of pale waist, where a scattering of black dragon scales breaks the skin along the hip bone. Her short black hair fans out flat and starfished on the pillow, strands caught in the linen weave; her four tan horns stand clear of it, two short ones jutting just above her brow line and two long ones sweeping back past her crown and curling slightly at the tips, casting small curved shadows onto the pillowcase. Only ordinary human ears sit flat at the sides of her head, uncovered and unobstructed, the pillow creased around them. Her red eyes are half-lidded, the slim slit pupils narrowed in the lamplight, and her gaze comes straight up the tilted axis of the lens with a faint lopsided smirk tugging one corner of her mouth; the black scaly tail slips out from under her hip, drapes across the rumpled sheet and hangs off the mattress edge, its plates catching the candlelight in a hard, glossy line and its tip curling in a slow uncurved loop in the air.
The bed is a broad four-poster of dark carved wood, one post and a fold of heavy velvet canopy crossing the top-left of the frame in front of the far stone wall; a tapestry hangs behind the headboard with its figures worn down to unreadable shapes, and the rest of the room falls away into darkness. The only light is a cluster of candles on a bedside table at the right edge, just outside the frame's crop, so the light rakes in low from the right and strikes the right side of her face, the lift of her raised knee and the long sweep of the tail's top surface, while the left side of her body and the hollows of the sheets go deep brown; every scale patch throws a small crisp shadow, and the sheet bunches in bright ridges where her weight has dragged it. Her pale skin, the bone-white linen and the tan horns read as the room's warm lights against the blacks of her shorts, crop top, thigh-highs and tail; the canopy velvet and the tapestry's weave carry muted rose and plum, and the shadowed stone behind settles into cool slate blue-grey, nothing outside those tones admitted.
Intimate, quietly predatory.
