character: hoshimachi_suisei
1girl, solo, hoshimachi_suisei, blue hair, long hair, hair between eyes, blue eyes, beret, blue jacket, white shirt, ribbon, skirt, gloves, earrings, kneeling, wariza, sitting on knees, looking up, cross-eyed, ahegao, open mouth, tongue out, blush, heart, floating hearts, looking at mushroom, mushroom, large mushroom, 18cm mushroom, growing on wall, house wall, indoor, from below, cowboy shot, dutch angle
From a low, slightly tilted dutch angle, the camera sits just above floor level and looks up past the girl kneeling in wariza on bare wooden floorboards, so the wall behind her rises away from the lens and the mushroom on it looms above her face. She sits with both knees folded out to her left, shins flat under her thighs, weight settled on her right hip; her torso leans back a little, both gloved hands braced on the floorboards behind her hips, fingers spread and pressing the wood, elbows locked. Her head is tipped fully back and turned slightly to her left, chin up, and her eyes are locked upward on the mushroom: both pupils drawn inward toward her nose, cross-eyed, whites wide, blue irises turned almost to the center, lashes fluttering. Her mouth hangs open in a slack, glazed ahegao grin with the tongue curling out over her lower lip, cheeks flushed hard, brows lifted high. Two small red-pink hearts float near her left temple and another drifts above her beret, slightly blurred as if just released.
The mushroom grows straight out of the pale plaster wall a good three hand-widths above her hairline: an 18cm tall stem curving out and up from the wall, a rounded cap with a soft brown-tan surface and a slightly darkened, upward-facing rim, the base of the stem fused with a small ragged lip of plaster where it has pushed through the wall. She stares only at it, her whole expression a foolish, fixed fascination, and one hand-by-hand she has not touched it -- the floorboards between her knees and the wall are empty.
The room behind her is a plain domestic interior: off-white plaster wall filling the upper two-thirds of the frame, a tatami-toned wood floor at the very bottom, a doorframe edge cropped at the far left, nothing on the wall but the mushroom. Light comes from a window off-frame to the right and low, spilling warm afternoon light along the wall and throwing her long shadow leftward across the floorboards, her beret's shadow elongated on the plaster. Palette is warm off-white plaster, honey-toned wood and soft afternoon gold against the cool blue of her hair and eyes, red-pink hearts as the only saturated accents. Rendered in clean cel-shaded anime linework with flat, bright fills and crisp shadows. A faint dusting of plaster falls from the mushroom's base and hangs in the light as a single thin line of drifting specks. Absurd and giddy.
