From a low angle cowboy shot, a powerfully built Japanese female shot put athlete stands tall in the center of a concrete throwing circle, radiating hearty good humor and an expansive, warm big-sisterly presence. She has a robust, broad-shouldered frame with heavily muscled arms, a thick athletic core, and sturdy legs. Leaning slightly forward toward the viewer, she flashes a radiant, open-mouthed grin that crinkles the corners of her eyes in an affectionate, accommodating expression, her cheeks flushed with post-exercise heat. Her neat, layered black hair is cut short to the nape, slightly windswept to reveal her bare, unadorned ears and strong jawline. She is clad in a navy-blue sleeveless track-and-field singlet and matching dark compression shorts. Her right arm easily balances a heavy, solid grey cast-iron shot put ball in the crook of her hip, while her raised left hand offers a hearty, welcoming wave, her fingers dusted with white athletic chalk that leaves faint powdery smudges along her knuckles and forearm. Her athletic throwing shoes are planted firmly behind the curved white wooden stop-board of the throwing ring. Beyond the circle, the vibrant green turf of the sports field and distant red tartan track stretch out beneath a clear azure sky. Crisp, warm sunlight casts a hard-edged shadow across the concrete beneath her and catches a tiny swirl of airborne chalk particles drifting near her fingertips. Hearty, warmly protective.
