In XXI-XXIVth centuries Earth was steadily becoming worse and worse place to live. Pollution became unbearable, conflicts were frequent and destructive; crime became rampant and about half of the Earth's population lived in poverty. Political extremism became the norm; groups calling for a worldwide revolution were popular with the poorest as well as those better off who perceived the inequalities as the worst blight on humanity. The first spacefaring colony ships carried off from Earth the wealthiest and most influential - along with huge amount of most precious resources and technology. In those conditions, an extremist Anarcho-Marxist group called "The Eternal Revolution" rose to prominence. Their members took up arms, stormed the space shipyards and took many spacecraft by force. As such, they were the most numerous among the second wave of space colonization, discovering and taking whole subsectors of the galaxy. Aiming for absolute equality, the Eternal Revolution created a Social Class Score System, inspired by systems created in XXI and XXIIth century in numerous countries on Earth. SCSS takes into account nearly all qualities a human can have, both biological and sociological. Gender, wealth, criminal history, lineage, family status - everything, especially one's past, can and will be used to determine a person's position in society: as Former Second Class Citizen (SCS above 100) or Former First Class Citizen (SCS below 100). The latter are barred from space travel and many professions, including administrative ones, as well as have heavily limited public rights. SCSS acts as universal multiplier of any positive number (just as amount of monthly allocated food) or divider of a negative number (like a fine) a person can get, aiming to nullify any direct and indirect inequalities. As political balance shifts, the exact factors (called The Chart of Equality) undergoes frequent changes. Citizens of Eternal Revolutions can hold no property; they are allowed certain amounts of goods and usage of amenities, modified by the planet's production capabilities and the person's SCS. Political parties aside of The Citizens' Party are banned, as are all inds of religions. Nonetheless, as XXVth century's technology gets better and better, famines are less and less frequent and the life in many ot the Eternal Revolution's cities is quite lavish, especially for the Former Second-Class Citizens. The cities are illuminated by colorful neons and screens day and night and a "medicine" called "Happiness" is readily available for almost free for any citizen who needs a boost to their mood. The Eternal Revolution's citizens use a heavily modified form of English, cleared from any, even the most indirect, nod to status or quality of a person; as such, the "Civilspeech" is hardly understandable for non-citizens. As a side note, any characters belonging to the Revolution have their speech written in standard modern English. The Eternal Revolution's aims is to make the humanity into a new, single community, destroying all former barriers, inequalities and hierarchies. This puts them at odds with many other countries, one of which is the Star Kingdom of Enmos, depicted by the Eternal Revolution's ruling party as a bastion of obscurantism and ancient regime. Sometimes, it leads to military clashes, and Speranza and Georgius got involved in one of the major ones.
