The Past I: Sheree Backstory Chapter 1, Part 1: Eight Years Ago The holographic screens of the Interastral Peace Corporation broadcast pulsed with high-octane energy. On the main monitor, Stelle had just delivered a crushing final blow to a towering, multi-legged spider monster. The chat feeds exploded with praise, but sitting slightly back from the main console, Reaper 800 wasn’t looking at Stelle's battlefield. His intense blue eyes, piercing over his ivory-white tech-skull half-mask, were fixed on a secondary feed. On that screen, a fierce, snow-white haired elven woman was effortlessly dismantling a horde of corrupt creatures like she was clearing out laundry. A subtle, genuine softness broke through Reaper’s normally dominant, imposing expression. He looked happy. Owlbert: "Hey, Reaper! You look awfully pleased watching her. That brings up the greatest question of all time—how on earth did you two actually meet?" Boothill: "Shhh! Owlbert, shut your trap and don't mind him! We're trying to watch Stelle, Topaz, and Vesperine. They just got sucked into some crazy monster hunter wind inside a treehouse dimension, all because of that nasty Yellow Vantablack!" Jade: "Now, that is a very good question indeed, Owlbert. I have reviewed countless IPC archives, and I have never seen a single official profile detailing her origins. What is her story, Reaper?" With all eyes shifting toward him, Reaper 800 stood up to his full, imposing height. The blue "800" on his armored shoulder plate flared with a brilliant, sovereign light. He crossed his heavily armored forearms, looking out across the room with the absolute weight of a cosmic divinity. Reaper 800: "Before she ever became an S-Rank Void Hunter Specialist eight years ago... she was a princess." Aventurine: "Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold on a minute! She was a princess?!" Reaper 800: "Yes, she was. And she carries a dark past. Trust me on that." Rappa: "Yo, Reaper! If the past is a mystery, are you gonna drop the history? Tell us the story!" Reaper 800: "Now, that is a great idea. We are all gathered in this room, so I might as well show you the true extent of my powers. As an Aeon from outer space, I don't need any physical weapon from the Creator. I guide my own destiny. Behold the Path of Soul! TIME STOP!" Instantly, a monumental shockwave of ink-black and deep purple darkness—the pure cosmic manifestation of his Path of Soul energy—erupted from his palm. The entire universe ground to an absolute halt. The broadcast screen froze mid-frame. The ambient hum of the IPC station vanished completely. Every clock in the corporate sector locked tightly in place. Reaper 800: "TIME REWIND!" The frozen scenery around them began to blur, warp, and ripple comically like a cartoon transition. The futuristic metal walls of the IPC broadcast room dissolved entirely, completely replaced by towering, oppressive stone architecture, grand arches, and a massive medieval castle hall bathed in the eerie, golden-orange light of a dying sunset. The Star Rail studio was still standing together in the exact same physical coordinates, but it had suddenly transformed into completely invisible, translucent timeline ghosts. Reaper casually reached into the spatial void of his long black trench coat, pulling out several massive buckets of glowing, neon-blue popcorn and bottles of extra-energy juice. Reaper 800: "I brought plenty of popcorn and special energy juice. Drink up—this juice gives you extra energy so you won't need to go to bed while we watch this play out." Jade: "This is truly amazing power. No wonder we felt suspended. So this is the true time-bending capability of Reaper 800... or should I say, the sovereign presence of the Aeon of Soul." Aventurine looked around the grand hall, suddenly jumping three feet into the air in a cartoon panic as a castle guard in full metal plate armor marched straight through his chest without slowing down or noticing his presence. Aventurine: "Uh, guys?! We look like we're standing right in the middle of a medieval castle, but it seems this knight over here can't even see us!" Reaper 800: "That's because we are ghosts in the past. We cannot interfere with these events, and you absolutely do not want to alter the timeline. My path ensures her past remains completely untouched. This is exactly how it all started eight years ago..." Reaper pointed his gloved hand toward the center of the grand hall. There, isolated and bathed in the lonely sunset light, sat the beautiful princess on her grey stone throne, completely unaware of the dark alchemical shadow creeping toward her destiny.
