Nowadays he just looks like a low-poly monster with an absurdly large mouth. Unfortunately, childhood me did not see it that way. After closing Warcraft III, I occasionally found myself wondering whether one of these things might be standing somewhere in the dark. This is what Draenei looked like before WoW turned them into beautiful blue space-paladins. Back then they were the monstrous survivors of a civilization nearly destroyed by the Orcish Horde, later joining Illidan to fight Magtheridon and his Fel Orcs. Warcraft III also gave them a noticeably more belligerent image—they carried enormous weapons, lived in the ruins of Draenor, and kept showing up as creeps whose diplomatic policy was apparently "attack anything entering acquisition range."
