Golden confetti was still drifting slowly through the air, and the cheers that had followed the candle-blowing had not completely died down. People in the front rows were already calling out the three girls’ names again. The birthday cake remained safely in the center of the stage, leaving behind a sweet afterglow from the gentle moment that had just passed. Rin was the first to brush a hand through her hair, then adjusted her wings so they sat a little more neatly behind her. “So, is that it?” She smiled as she looked out toward the audience. “Everyone still looks pretty energetic.” Galuri stood to the right of the cake, still holding her microphone. Her long pink hair fell down her back, while the two distinct front locks in front of her ears hung clearly all the way to her waist. Looking out at the sea of glowing lightsticks, she could not help smiling too. “Feels like we could still have a little more fun.” Valk remained in the center. The violet patterns across her visor flickered softly, almost as though she were processing the new situation in real time. “Audience excitement levels remain high.” Rin immediately turned toward her. “So what you really mean is that this is the perfect time for one more ending pose, right?” Valk paused for half a second. “Assessment correct.” Galuri’s shoulders shook slightly with laughter. “Then what should we do?” Rin looked at Valk, then at herself, and suddenly raised one hand as if an idea had just struck her. “How about a heart?” Galuri blinked. “All three of us?” Rin shook her head. “No, that’s too ordinary.” She stepped closer to Valk, her red tail swaying lightly behind her. “Valk and I each use one hand to make half of a heart. Galuri—” She deliberately paused before turning toward the right. “You handle the most festive part.” Galuri looked down at the decorative props on the nearby cart and soon spotted an unused party popper tucked among the ribbons and wrapping decorations. She picked it up, her eyes lighting up slightly. “This?” Rin grinned. “Exactly.” Valk turned toward them as well. “New stage finale arrangement confirmed.” “You really can make anything sound like a tactical operation.” “This is an efficient form of description.” Trying not to laugh, Galuri turned the party popper in her hands, checking how the string worked. “Should we rehearse it once? Otherwise somebody might get the timing wrong.” “Who would get the timing wrong?” Rin raised an eyebrow. Galuri looked directly at her. “You.” “Hey!” The audience seemed to realize that the three of them were preparing something new, and the venue gradually quieted again, waiting for the next surprise. Warm stage lights settled over them, softening the intense concert atmosphere from earlier. Instead, the moment began to feel like the end of a birthday party, when everyone gathered together for one final commemorative photo. Rin moved to Valk’s left. Valk remained exactly in the center, standing upright. Her black, white, and violet mechanical body reflected the stage lights with a gentle metallic sheen. She looked down at her own hand, then at Rin’s already raised arm. “Please explain heart formation procedure.” Rin simply lifted one arm. “It’s easy. Like this.” She curved her arm into half of a heart and held the pose in midair. Valk observed for two seconds before raising her opposite hand and trying to mirror the shape. Her movement, however, was far too precise. So precise that it looked less like a heart and more like she was drafting an engineering diagram. Galuri burst out laughing. “Valk, relax a little.” “Relax?” “Yeah. You don’t have to make it that exact.” Rin nodded in agreement. “This isn’t a component calibration.” Valk went silent for a moment, seemingly processing the instruction to “relax.” Then she adjusted the angle of her wrist and elbow, softening the shape. This time, it finally looked like a heart. Rin glanced over and nodded with satisfaction. “Yeah. That’s it.” Galuri carried the party popper to the right side and stood slightly behind the other two. She shifted her pink microphone to her other hand and tested how she could smile and pull the popper at the same time without making the pose look messy. “How about here?” Rin turned and looked. Galuri stood to their right, her skirt falling neatly around her legs. Her long pink hair flowed down her back, while the two front locks before her ears remained clearly visible, hanging all the way to her waist. With the party popper in hand, she looked like the final celebratory accent the composition needed. “Perfect.” Valk gave her own judgment. “Composition balanced.” Rin laughed. “You’re evaluating the composition now too?” “This improves image quality.” Galuri nearly laughed too hard to answer. By then, people in the audience were already waving excitedly, clearly guessing that the trio was about to do something together. Galuri took a breath. “Want me to count down?” Rin kept her half-heart pose in place while Valk mirrored her from the other side. Together, one hand each, they formed a complete heart at center stage. “Hurry up. My arm’s getting tired.” “You were the one who said you wouldn’t mess up the timing.” “That has nothing to do with timing!” Laughing, Galuri raised the party popper. “Okay. Three, two, one—” She pulled the string. Pop! Colorful streamers and glitter burst into the air, blooming under the stage lights like a tiny firework. Red, violet, pink, and gold pieces scattered together, flying right past the heart formed by Rin and Valk and making the whole scene feel even more festive. The audience erupted into a loud, perfectly synchronized cheer. Rin’s eyes widened instinctively before she broke into a grin. “Wow. That turned out even better than I expected.” Valk maintained her pose, but the violet light across her visor clearly brightened. “Live response: highly positive.” Galuri stood to the side, still holding the empty party popper casing, smiling so brightly that her eyes curved. “It really looks like a final group photo.” Hearing that, Rin did not lower her arm right away. Instead, she tilted her head slightly and looked at the heart she and Valk had created together. “Then let’s hold it a little longer.” Valk responded immediately. “Pose duration may be extended by three seconds.” “Why do you even need to time that?” “Optimal freeze-frame preservation.” Galuri finally laughed out loud. And so the three of them held the pose beneath the streamers that were still drifting down around them. Valk in the center and Rin on the left, each using one hand to form a heart together. Galuri on the right, holding the party popper and smiling warmly. The cake remained in front of them. The birthday banner hung quietly overhead. And the entire stage seemed to preserve the moment perfectly, even the lighting holding at just the right brightness. A few seconds later, Rin finally lowered her arm and rolled her slightly tired shoulder. “Okay. Now that actually feels like an ending.” Galuri looked at the streamers scattered across the stage and laughed softly. “Yeah. This is definitely a moment worth keeping.” Valk slowly lowered her arm as well. “Classified as a high-quality finale image.” Rin put her hands on her hips. “Translation: it was a success, right?” “Yes.” “See? You could’ve just said that from the beginning.” Another wave of laughter rose from the audience. The three of them looked at one another. Then they laughed together. And within that laughter, this night of birthdays, songs, cake, and heartfelt wishes gained one more moment worth remembering.
