On the left, a girl with short brown hair accented by a prominent white streak, perked horse ears adorned with a small ribbon, and a matching tail stands in firm rejection. She wears an academy sailor uniform featuring a deep purple and white collared jacket with gold trim and a pleated skirt. Her forearms are pulled tightly across her chest to form a rigid, unmistakable "X" shape. Her face is comically scrunched with her eyes clamped shut into two sharp "> <" angle marks and her mouth set in a resolute, stubborn line. Floating directly above her head, the word "NO!" is rendered in vibrant, rounded pop-style display lettering with a thick white outline and radiating comic shock lines. On the right, a girl with long silver-grey hair, a bouncing cowlick ahoge, drooping horse ears, and an identical academy sailor uniform slumps forward in desperate hunger. Her face is comically drained of color with a pale dazed cast, while her oversized circular eyes are rendered completely empty, devoid of pupils or irises. One hand clutches inward against her abdomen, bunching the uniform fabric where her stomach aches, while her other arm reaches weakly across the frame toward the girl on the left with outstretched, trembling fingers. A scalloped white thought bubble drifts above her drooping head, containing a single triangular rice ball with a crisp black nori wrap. The lighting is completely even, bright, and flat, casting minimal soft drop shadows along the floor line to preserve the graphic clarity of the character silhouettes. Comical and endearing.
