Her brown hair runs in a single braid down her back with strands lifting in the rising pressure, she wears glasses, and her blue eyes are shut in concentration, jaw set, lips murmuring the incantation. Fie Claussell is airborne at the right of the group, clearly above the ground with knees tucked and her white hair flung upward by the climb, in the same uniform with her skirt flaring; both pistols are out, one arm thrust toward the monster, the other across her chest, and muzzle flashes bloom at both barrels with a spray of sparks and a shockwave ripple of dust beneath her where she has kicked off the broken stone. Her green eyes are bright and fixed on the target, mouth open in a fierce grin. The bright sunlight filters through the canopy high above and lands as distinct shafts of light and shadow, cutting down across the scene at an angle: one beam catches Laura's blade and the flying stone dust, another falls across Alisa's drawn arrow and her face, another sifts through vine leaves to the ground where Emma's circle burns. Beyond the beams, deep green shadow holds the trunks and ruins; debris, chips of rock, splinters and drifting dust float across the foreground, some sharply lit and some silhouetted. The palette is deep forest green and moss, wet stone grey, the girls' white-and-red uniform accents, and the bright white-gold of magic and sunlight, nothing else admitted.
