Ash and Misty: A Moment at the Waterfall

There's always been something special about the dynamic between Ash and Misty, and I wanted to capture that tender, unspoken bond in this piece. The way they look at each other here, with the waterfall roaring behind them, feels like the perfect metaphor for their adventurous spirits. I hope this art resonates with your memories of the classic series! If you enjoy it, please leave a like and follow for more nostalgic art, and let me know your favorite Pokémon moment in the comments below.

He has short black hair under a worn red baseball cap pulled low, the brim tipped so the shadow sits at his browline, and a short-sleeved open jacket over a shirt, his arms in green fingerless gloves wrapped around her back with the bare fingertips pressed flat against her far shoulder blade, the glove cuffs creasing at his wrists. She has short orange hair gathered into a high side ponytail on her right side that swings out over the empty air, her bangs pushed across her brow, and she is up on her toes to meet him, one cheek against his jaw, her own green fingerless gloves gripping a fold of his jacket at the waist, the bare index finger hooked in the seam. Between them the contact is closed: his forearm crosses her spine, her hip is against his, her chest against his chest, and both their bodies lean into one shared weight. Behind them a waterfall drops the full height of the frame, white water striking a rock shelf and rising again as a curtain of drifting spray that catches the pale light; the ground under their feet is wet stone, dark and glossy, with runoff threading along the cracks and a faint mist halo sitting on their shoulders and in the loose strands of their hair. Light comes only from the open day beyond the falls, cool and diffuse from behind, so the rims of their hair and the tops of their gloves glow while their faces stay softly lit by the bounce off the wet stone -- the water is brightest, they sit darker against it, and the shadow they cast falls toward the camera and slightly right. Everything is blue-green and white in the water and rock, warmed only by the orange of her hair, the red of his cap and the green of their gloves. Quiet and entirely absorbed in each other.
