Just beside her, Hiromi Seijo leans forward with her weight on her front foot, a red jacket with an Autobot emblem on the sleeve and a pair of fingerless blue gloves, goggles pushed up on her head, one arm up and pointing at the robot's chest panel, eyes following the line of her finger. Behind them both, half-lit, a silver-faced mechanical figure in dark armor and a tall pointed hat watches the group. Carved jack-o'-lanterns line the ground along the cobblestones, and the candlelight inside them throws flickering orange up the undersides of the robes and across the robot's silver faceplate — the only warm light source, beyond it the dark street falling off into deep blue-black. The staff's spiral head breaks the line of the robot's shoulder, and where the candlelight catches it, a bright glint on the polished metal. Playful, ceremonial.
