Viewed from above, the camera looks steeply down a short flight of pale stone stairs where a single severed torso lies upside-down, the crown of the head lower in frame than the hips. Long wavy purple hair fans across two steps, swept bangs falling back from the brow and sidelocks plastered dark against the cheek. The white fur papakha has come loose and rests tipped against one step above the head, no longer worn. The face is inverted relative to the viewer: wide cyan eyes stare up past the lens, pupils rolled back so only the pale sclera shows, lids strained open in a hollow blank dead stare, tear tracks running sideways along the temple into the hairline. Below the neck, the white dress is shredded open across the chest, fabric torn along the grain and soaked dark, the torn black turtleneck undershirt rent beneath it in a wardrobe malfunction that leaves the medium breasts exposed, one nipple visible through the torn fabric edge. A wide ragged bite has taken away everything below the waist — the dress and cape end in a wet, torn hem around the severed stump, cloth shreds fanned out and stained. Blood spreads in a large pool across the stair treads, gathering and darkening in the seams and runnels of the stone and creeping along the step edge to drip over the nosing; a separate irregular urine stain darkens the stone beside the blood, its border rimmed darker where it has dried. The yellow star hair ornament and pink hair bow sit half-sunk at the edge of the pool. All light comes from a single flat overhead source with no cast shadow beyond the form, the white background standing completely empty beyond the stairs, palette restricted to white, purple, black, and the deep red-brown of blood against the paler yellow urine stain. Clean cel-shading, flat colors, sharp linework, plain white negative space, quiet dread.
