The night was bitterly cold and hostile, as was customary in the region surrounding the temple of Esfenión's palace. Weather conditions this harsh could not simply be attributed to the geographical location or the structural features of the building. ​A punishment from the true god, perhaps? For having strayed from the path he had laid out for us… Truth be told, I do not care… I couldn't care less… those visions proclaiming a prosperous future for our desires exist nowhere else than under the wing of Esfenión. I couldn't help but smile and cry out. ​"This feeling… this power is what I longed to feel inside me!" ​I used the effigy to absorb most of the damage and agony it inflicted upon me… spiritual presences tainted by corruption swarmed around me, fluttering much like bees clustering around the sweet nectar of flowers. ​Energy shook my body as my power and mana surged sky-high. Two bony protuberances erupted from my head, just like those borne by filthy, mangy beasts. Aesthetically, the horns were revolting to me, yet they were not vile enough to eclipse my own beauty and unbridled ecstasy. ​Because the effigy absorbed the brunt of the harm, I was able to fully savor the intoxication and wild thrill of the transformation, thanks to Esfenión’s power. I had to enjoy this moment before this immense power vanished as quickly as it had arisen, like a fleeting dream.
