She stepped onto the ruined landing platform, armor humming neon green as something enormous shrieked from the darkness ahead. “Unknown life-form approaching,” her headset warned. Nova calmly checked her weapon. “Yeah. I noticed.” Another roar shook the platform. Back at command, someone nervously reminded her that humanity was hoping for peaceful relations with extraterrestrial life. Nova smiled. “Then it should’ve come in peace.” Her visor lit up.
