The guild building stood at the end of the most secluded street in town. Vines covered its black stone walls, while the silver emblem on the door depicted nothing more than a crescent moon shrouded in shadow. Only those truly familiar with the world of adventurers knew what this place represented. The quests accepted by the Dark Guild were often far more dangerous than those of ordinary guilds. And the adventurers who managed to remain here were hardly ordinary themselves. Kamui Gakupo and Megurine Luka were among the most remarkable of them. Both were adventurers of the Dark Guild. More precisely, they were among the rare adventurers who had mastered both magic and physical combat. Such a combination was extremely uncommon among adventurers. Most mages needed to maintain their distance, while warriors relied on strength and weapons for close combat. But Gakupo and Luka were different. Gakupo narrowed his eyes slightly. “At least by a whole size.” “Can we still handle it?” “Of course.” A faint smile appeared at the corner of Luka's lips. “Good.” The monster remained completely unaware of their presence. It lowered its head and sniffed the ground in the middle of the clearing. Gakupo and Luka still did not attack. They were waiting.
