Yet, she would not remain in his belly forever; sooner or later whether she was still under his spell or had just shaken off the trance the huge snake would clumsily spit her out, as was his habit, or a friend would arrive and force him to regurgitate her safe and sound. In the meantime, having just snapped out of Kaa's hypnosis, she found herself resting comfortably inside the giant python's belly; she calmly awaited the moment of her release—be it through a rescue, her own escape from the gluttonous snake's stomach, or one of Kaa's blunders forcing him to spit out his meal unharmed.
