First-person point of view, medium close-up from a seated position directly across a low living room coffee table. Six horse girls lean forward together in a tight, affectionate semi-circle, crowding close to the viewer and staring intently, unblinkingly into the viewer's eyes with radiant, joyful smiles to celebrate the birthday. In the center, a girl with long straight grey hair, blunt bangs, blue eyes, and alert horse ears wears an oversized off-white ribbed knit sweater, holding a white porcelain platter with both hands; atop the plate rests a tall birthday sponge cake layered with whipped cream, fresh cut strawberries, and several lit wax candles. Directly to her right, a girl with long dark brown hair, a prominent standing ahoge, a small star-shaped hair pin, and vibrant blue eyes wears a relaxed lavender cardigan, leaning forward with her right fingers lightly steadying the platter edge as she beams with an expectant, wide grin. To the left, a girl with voluminous warm-brown hair and bright brown eyes wears a loose beige casual blouse, leaning in with both hands held mid-clap, her gaze locked squarely on the viewer with cheerful enthusiasm. Grouped closely behind them, three other horse girls in cozy everyday private attire—one with wavy dark chestnut hair in a sage-green sweater resting a hand on her companion's shoulder, another with reddish-brown hair in a neat half-up style clasping her hands before her chest, and a third with smooth dark chocolate hair leaning gently over the middle—crowd forward with their ears tilted forward in excitement, all six gazes fixed squarely and intently on the viewer. The flickering golden candlelight from the cake illuminates their chins, cheeks, and lips from below, casting tiny twin amber catchlights into every pair of eyes, while a warm overhead living room pendant light softly illuminates the surrounding sofa cushions and wooden interior. The shared breath of the girls makes the small candle flames waver gently toward the camera, throwing tremulous warm highlights across their knuckles and the white frosting. Tender celebration.
