Alba percilla Wulfrica Brianna Dumbledore

### The Headmistresses Can Wait Alba Percilla Wulfrica Brianna Dumbledore had discovered something far more important than school regulations, ancient magical portraits, or the opinions of former headmasters. Fawkes had exceptionally soft feathers. “There, there, Fawkes,” Alba murmured, gently stroking the magnificent phoenix perched beside her. “Who's the most beautiful bird in the whole castle? You are! Yes, you are!” Fawkes trilled happily, lowering his head to make it easier for her to scratch beneath his beak. His golden-red plumage shimmered in the afternoon sunlight, and Alba looked as though she'd discovered the greatest treasure in the wizarding world. Unfortunately, the portraits lining the Headmaster's office had other opinions. “Honestly! Is this a Headmaster's office or a petting zoo?” one former headmaster grumbled. “Miss Dumbledore, perhaps you could pay attention to something besides that bird!” another portrait protested. “Back in my day, students showed proper respect for this office!” Alba didn't even turn her head. “Mm-hmm. Of course.” She continued stroking Fawkes. “Your feathers are so pretty today! Did you polish them yourself, you clever boy?” Fawkes answered with a melodious chirp and affectionately rubbed his head against her cheek. Alba giggled, completely enchanted. The portraits erupted into further complaints. “This is outrageous!” “She's ignoring us!” “Someone ought to remind her that this is a place of education!” Alba finally glanced in their direction. For one hopeful moment, the former headmasters fell silent. “Could you please keep your voices down?” she asked sweetly. “Fawkes is enjoying himself.” Then she turned back to the phoenix. The portraits stared at one another in collective disbelief. Apparently, the world according to Alba Percilla Wulfrica Brianna Dumbledore consisted of two things: herself and Fawkes. And judging by the way the phoenix nestled contentedly against her, he had absolutely no objections to that arrangement.

Her aged face is graced with gentle crow's feet and fine laugh lines, featuring a prominent, aristocratic nose upon which slender silver half-moon spectacles rest. Through the oval lenses, her bright blue eyes radiate profound warmth and gentle amusement, complemented by a serene, wise smile across her lips. Her luxuriant, silvery-white hair cascades in thick, lustrous waves over her shoulders, with long, delicate silver-white wisps trailing gracefully beside her jawline to frame her countenance like refined, flowing tendrils. Perched atop her head is an ornate, pointed wizard hat of midnight plum-purple velvet, its curved brim and pointed crown accented with celestial silver stitchings. She is draped in opulent, floor-length plum-purple wizard robes of heavy, rippling fabric, embellished along the wide hems and billowing bell sleeves with intricate silver embroidery forming astrological rings and arcane runes. Perched steadily upon the chair's polished wooden left armrest, a magnificent phoenix rests its talons against the dark grain. The mythical bird boasts radiant scarlet and vivid gold plumage, with elegant crest feathers sweeping backward and long, slender tail plumes draping down the side of the chair. The witch’s right hand, lined with faint age marks, rests tenderly on the phoenix's nape, her fingers gently stroking through the soft, downy golden plumage as the bird leans affectionately into the soothing contact. The phoenix emits a gentle internal amber glow, releasing tiny, buoyant golden sparks that drift lazily upward and dissolve into the surrounding air. Behind the seating arrangement, the grand tower sanctum rises with curved stone masonry. Soaring gothic lancet windows reveal a deep sapphire twilight sky sprinkled with distant stars. Along the curved walls, heavy gilded frames display oil portraits of ancient scholars and sorcerers quietly shifting in their painted canvas seats. To the sides, slender-legged cherrywood tables support whirring, delicate silver instruments with interlocking spinning rings that emit tiny puffs of pale smoke, while floor-to-ceiling curved bookcases overflow with leather-bound grimoires, rolled parchments, and glowing glass alembics. Illumination stems from clusters of floating beeswax candles and wall sconces, casting rich amber light that interplays with the cool moonlight from the windows and the soft golden bioluminescence of the phoenix. Warm jewel tones of plum, gold, and ruby gleam against the dark wood and ashlar stone. Serene wisdom.
