In a dynamic low-angle cowboy shot inside a sunlit high school gymnasium, a teenage boy with tousled short black hair and earnest dark brown eyes leans slightly forward with his weight planted on his front sneaker, catching his breath after a drill. A white cotton towel rests draped around the back of his neck, and his right hand grips the wrapped handle of a badminton racket that rests angled over his right shoulder, with fine beads of sweat catching the light at his temple. Standing to his right, another youth with layered medium grey hair and calm blue eyes rests his left palm against the green-painted metal net post, turning his head with a slight, knowing smile as his gaze locks onto the black-haired boy. His right hand casually balances a feathered shuttlecock between thumb and index finger. Warm morning sunlight cuts diagonally through high clerestory windows, casting defined radiant light shafts across the court and illuminating tiny suspended dust motes drifting in the air. The gloss-lacquered polyurethane floorboards beneath their rubber-soled court shoes cast soft, elongated reflections of both figures, contrasting rich amber timber tones against clean white and deep navy sportswear, crisp athletic cel shading, youthful and invigorating.
