Mykyta (OC)

Four years since the war in Ukraine has reignited, the conflict has prolonged into a war of attrition between Ukraine and Russia. To mark this milestone and to keep the war somewhat relevant, I made this male OC, whom I've named Mykyta. The literal translation behind his name is "unconquerable" or "victory", while the name is also used for the legendary folk hero Mykyta the Tanner, whose tale is set in Kyiv. As for the watermelon, it is apparently the symbol of the Kherson Oblast, a Ukrainian province that has been heavily affected by the war. Mykyta's personality, at least for now, it that he is youthful, patriotic and optimistic, hence his expression in this artwork.
