This landscape scene depicts an ancient and ruined temple complex at dusk. A winding staircase leads towards central temple ruins, featuring an orderly row of columns and large stone steps, some of which have collapsed, forming a pathway through the fallen masonry. At the top of the stairs, there is an altar-like structure. Surrounding the temple, there is an abundance of banyan trees with complex, thick roots that weave through the stones and hang from the structure, as well as hanging green moss. The ground is overgrown with low grass, and the air is filled with multiple misty, ethereal, golden-white light points floating through the scene. The scene is enveloped in a soft, warm light from the setting sun, which casts a golden glow through the misty atmosphere.
