〇 Shax (Goetia) One of the 72 demons listed in the *Goetia*, holding the rank of 44th. A Great Marquis of Hell who commands 30 legions. Upon being summoned, he appears in the form of a stork or a rock dove. While he possesses knowledge of sacred matters and the locations of hidden treasures (provided they aren't guarded by other demons), he also wields powers that are somewhat... sticky-fingered—such as stealing people's senses (sight, hearing, comprehension) or making off with money and horses. Although he is generally obedient to the summoner—providing excellent familiars and utilizing the aforementioned knowledge and powers—he is also a habitual liar. Consequently, the summoner is forced to keep him confined within the triangle of the magic circle while commanding him, making him a rather difficult demon to handle, much like a few others of his kind. The illustration depicts him in an anthropomorphic stork form. Given his unique powers, he is assigned to the Information Bureau's external operations division. While highly valued for his work in intelligence gathering and covert struggles against rival factions, his mischievous nature and tendency to lie make him somewhat of a nuisance to those around him. I suppose, deep down, he isn't a bad guy, though... (￣▽￣;)
