Caretaker — Nycht Sewer Emergence Deep beneath Hooverville, a flooded sewer tunnel has been overtaken by dense silvery-grey Nycht growth. Thin, silky films cover the brickwork in overlapping layers, while thicker deposits have accumulated into hard, plaster-like shelves, ridges, plates, and tangled masses around the walls and floor. The growth is wet and glossy from constant condensation, but its outer layers have dried and hardened into irregular biological armor. From the center of the Nursery, something enormous is pulling itself free. The Caretaker is a six-legged amalgamated Nycht organism, roughly the size and general mass of a large animal. Its body is assembled from countless layers of fused biological material rather than possessing a recognizable long animal like skeleton. Six powerful limbs support its weight, each composed of overlapping angular segments that taper into broad, weight-bearing ends. Smaller tendrils and fibrous growths bind the larger structures together around its joints. Its head is a lump flanked with two rhombus like growths of feeler like horn mass. Its silhouette is semi-angular and deliberately constructed, with sloping plates, ridges, blunt protrusions, and asymmetrical masses interrupting the otherwise smooth curves of its rubbery biomass. Beneath the hardened exterior, softer silvery-grey material remains wet, elastic, and faintly gelatinous, visible through gaps between its layered structures. The Caretaker's surface is not clean. It is fetid, damp, and heavily layered, carrying strands of Nursery growth, mineral deposits, sewer grime, and viscous biological residue across its body. Water runs between its plates as it moves. Some sections remain soft and gooey while others have thickened into dense, rubbery biological armor. It does not resemble a humanoid, an animal, or a conventional monster. It looks like a sewer's entire biological infrastructure has been compressed into a six-legged organism and taught how to walk. Behind it, the Nursery continues spreading across the tunnel walls. The Caretaker simply rises onto all six limbs, adjusts its weight, and begins moving through the sewer.
