〇 Bune (Goetia) Bune is one of the 72 demons recorded in the *Goetia*, ranked as the 26th spirit and holding the title of Duke. He is a Great Duke of Hell who commands 30 legions. When summoned, he appears as a dragon with three heads—those of a dog, a griffin, and a human—and speaks with a high, majestic voice. He is said to bestow wealth, knowledge, and eloquence upon the summoner. Like Bifrons, he is a high-ranking necromancer capable of manipulating corpses and summoning subordinate demons to graveyards prepared by the summoner. Collin de Plancy, author of the *Dictionnaire Infernal*, associates him with an evil spirit known as "Buni" from Tatar folklore. For the illustration, I chose the dog head, as depicting a multi-headed character is challenging for AI. I designed him as an anthropomorphic German Shepherd—a breed synonymous with brave dogs. His current position in the Demon World is Captain of the Royal Guard. He formerly served as the Director of the Mausoleum Bureau and was once Bifrons' superior. Legend has it that on April 9, 1241, during the Battle of Legnica (also known as the Battle of Wahlstatt), a knight summoned him and offered the bodies and souls of himself and his fallen comrades—slain by the Mongol army—as payment. Using his powers, Bune resurrected the knights as undead spirits and manifested them before the Mongol forces. Faced with countless incorporeal undead soldiers, the Mongol army fell into a panic, forcing their commander, Batu, to order a retreat. Just as they were attempting to regroup, news arrived that the Great Khan Ögedei had died suddenly back home and that a *Kurultai* (council) was being convened to select a successor. As a result, the entire army withdrew, and the crisis of Europe's destruction was reportedly averted.
