character: akatsuki_kai_ni_(kancolle) 1girl, solo, afloat, pool, looking at viewer, smile, happy, open mouth, medium breasts, black old school swimsuit, black pantyhose, pantyhose under swimsuit, sleeveless, purple hair, long hair, purple eyes, wet hair, wet clothes, from above, foreshortening, outstretched arm, head tilt, water, ripples, reflections, day, sunlight The camera looks down from directly above her, a steep high angle with strong foreshortening: her face and the upper curve of her chest fill the top of the frame while her body recedes down the frame into the water, her hips and thighs swimming away into foreshortened distance beneath her. She floats on her back in a clear swimming pool, arms flung out loosely to either side just under the surface, her legs drifting apart and slightly bent, one knee raised closer to the surface than the other. She has tilted her head back so her face turns up toward the lens, long wet purple hair fanned out in the water around her head in loose strands that drift outward and forward past her temples, some strands floating across her cheeks. Her purple eyes look straight up at the viewer, both open and bright, brows lifted, and she is smiling wide and open-mouthed, delighted, cheeks flushed pink with exertion and sun. The water line crosses her body at the collarbone and again along her arms, so her face, neck and shoulders sit above the surface while everything lower is seen through the water. She wears a plain black old-school swimsuit, sleeveless with narrow shoulder straps, its fabric skintight and darkened further where it is soaked, and underneath it black pantyhose covering her hips and legs all the way down, the swimsuit leg openings riding over the pantyhose so the dark hose continues smooth and wet past them; the fine mesh of the hose is visible underwater and clings to her thighs and calves, catching a faint sheen. Where her body meets the water, her floating displaces it: concentric rings ripple out from her shoulders and arms, a slight depression in the surface around her waist, and thin bright lines of refraction crawl across the dark swimsuit and hose below the waterline, breaking her outline into wobbling segments. Above the surface, droplets bead on her face and neck and a few strands of hair stick flat to her cheek; below, small bubbles cling to the pantyhose at the hip. The pool floor is a pale blue tiled grid visible at the bottom of the frame, its lines dimmed and wavering through the water, and the pool walls recede beyond the frame edges. Hard midday sunlight comes from up and slightly to the left, striking her face and shoulders with bright warm highlights, catching the water's surface in a lattice of caustics that fall only on the lit upward-facing planes of her body, while the undersides of her arms and her body under the water sit in cool blue-green shade; her own shadow is cast down onto the pale tiles beneath her, soft and wavering. Palette held to saturated swimming-pool blues and greens, deep black in the swimsuit and hose, warm sunlit skin, and the violet of her hair and eyes as the one accent, nothing else admitted. Crisp clean anime rendering, sunlit and joyful.
