A high-angle shot looks straight down into an empty, rectangular industrial room from well above head height, the camera tilted enough that the far wall and its open door stay visible along the top edge of the frames. No people anywhere: the floor is bare of bodies, the treadmills unmanned, every surface untouched by hands. In the near-left of the frame a treadmill sits angled slightly off the room's axis, its belt dark and scuffed with dried footprints, its console dark. A second treadmill stands parallel to it in the mid-right, half a metre further back, its side rail catching a thin ribbon of light. Between and behind them, a corrugated cardboard box sits on the floor, flaps splayed, a coil of grey cable, a scattering of small metal fittings and two loose bolts heaped on top of it, the box's lid sagging under the weight. Across the concrete floor a few more objects lie scattered: a dropped wrench, a short length of cut pipe, a crumpled rag, all resting flat where they fell, casting short soft shadows that stretch toward the bottom-left of the frame. Along the far wall an open doorway cuts a bright rectangle into the dim interior, and through it a slice of a corridor is visible, its floor tiles receding into pale light beyond the threshold. Above the doorway a plain wall carries a few mounted objects: a rectangular monitor glowing a dull blue-grey, a switch panel, and a bracket holding a coiled wire that hangs down in a loose loop. To the right of the door, a narrow window is set into the wall, grimy with dust, letting in a wash of cold daylight that falls across the floor in a long pale patch and picks out the dust motes suspended in the still air. An industrial pipe runs horizontally along the top of the wall and turns down at the corner, its joints banded with rust; a second pipe branches off toward the ceiling. Wires and cables droop in gentle catenaries from the ceiling fixtures and along the base of the wall, some taped down, some loose. The palette is cool and desaturated: grey concrete, dull black rubber, the flat tan of the box, the cold white of the window light, one small red standby LED on the monitor as the only saturated point. The window is the only light source; everything outside its patch falls into soft grey shadow. Quiet, utilitarian, faintly ominous.
