From a low angle looking upward in a tense Dutch tilt, a dark, heavy iron steam locomotive bears down along a set of dual steel railway tracks. Mounted directly onto the circular smokebox plate at the front of the cylindrical boiler is a pale female human face, replacing the traditional metal boiler door, with no human neck, torso, or limbs attached anywhere to the machine. Layers of medium-length vibrant green hair frame the circular metal rim, with thick jagged bangs draping downward to completely obscure one eye. Her exposed glowing orange eye stares down with a sharp, distinct heart-shaped pupil. Heavy, sharp wings of black eyeliner contour the eye, paired with dark blended black eyeshadow across the lid, while her mouth is painted in glossy black lipstick and stretched into an unnerving, manic crazy smile that reveals rows of pristine teeth. The dark painted steel boiler curves backward with riveted seams and a tall smokestack, supported by massive cast-iron driving wheels and connecting rods positioned directly upon the polished steel rails. Beneath the front buffer beam, twin coupling irons hang motionless above the weathered wooden ties and stone ballast. A cool, stark beam of directional light strikes the side of the boiler, producing bright specular streaks along the wet black lips and the reflective metal track heads, while thick white vapor vents from the side cylinders, swirling low against the cold gravel. Surreal, menacing.
