A looming close-up from a low, slightly tilted camera inside a CRT television: the girl fills most of the frame, her face pushed right up against the glass so close that the curved screen bends her silhouette outward at the edges; we see her through the convex, grime-flecked surface of the tube, its scanlines running horizontally across her cheeks and collarbones, a faint phosphor bloom haloing her against a pure dead-channel black. Her medium dark-blonde hair is a slept-in bedhead, tangled and lifting in loose strands, one long lock falling diagonally across the left half of her face and hiding that eye entirely, a single heart-shaped ahoge curling up out of the crown and swaying forward as she leans in. Her visible right eye is brown with a star-shaped pupil, and it burns with a supernatural inner glow -- a cold pale vermilion light that spills onto the rim of her glasses and leaves two small hot reflections in each lens; the round rims sit low on her nose, catching the glow along their top edge. Her lips are thick, detailed and puffy, parted in a ":3" shape, the upper lip caught between kittenish corners; a small mole sits on the bridge side of her nose below the glasses.
She wears a tight white dress cut like a long strand of pale cloth, clinging to an exaggerated hourglass figure -- massive breasts straining the fabric, wide hips and thick thighs filling the lower half of the tube -- creamy skin glowing faintly under the cold tube light, the dress soaked through and dripping, thin runnels of water tracking down her throat and chest and beading at the hem, the wet fabric clinging so that the shape of her nipples reads as covered points through the sodden cloth. A black choker sits snug at her throat with a small brass heart pendant swinging free below it, catching the eye-glow in a single hot spark. Her right hand is pressed flat to the inside of the screen from within, fingertips splayed and slightly distorted by the curvature, the palm's pressure bloomed into a faint rainbow lens flare; her left shoulder has already pushed partway out of the glass, its edge dissolving into a seam of red-and-cyan misregistration, pixels and static tearing off her sleeve.
Behind her the tube opens onto a warm, tidy living room frozen in the deep background -- a low couch, a lamp, a rug -- but the room reads as a pale miniature beyond the void-black frame of the dead channel, so the real world sits small and distant behind her looming face. The only light is the television's own glow from inside the screen and the cold supernatural shine of her eyes; beyond it the shadows are absolute and heavy, and the dark presses in at the corners of the frame. Palette held to cold dead-channel black, dirty cream, wet white, and the vermilion-cyan split of the aberration. Found-footage grit: tape dropouts and tracking bands across the lower edge. Quiet dread.
