Takeko, the Misty Mountain Ranger, stops for a brief break under a Shiitake mushroom along her journey to deliver a message from the O of Shirohae, of the Southern Ju-Okoku to the O of Soyokaze, of the Northern Ju-Okoku. Her goal is to use her honed senses, consistent training and innate agility to avoid everything from the Nihon ten to the Yama-otoko that inhabit the region so that she can arrive by first light two days hence.
