Where the Light Still Reaches Him

Crest and Tremsha are two characters from my original story Where Heroes come. They are both going through very different kinds of pain. Tremsha lives with constant suffering caused by her condition, while Crest has begun making choices he normally would never make in order to find enough money for her treatment. Some of those choices are morally questionable, and they are slowly pulling him into a darker place. But behind everything he is doing is the same reason: he wants to give Tremsha a chance at a better life. Tremsha still doesn’t know how far Crest has gone for her. I wanted this illustration to show that contrast — Crest surrounded by darkness, carrying the weight of what he is doing, while Tremsha remains the warm light that still reaches him.
