Both children have fluffy pale cat ears sprouting from the top of their heads and a fluffy tail, and both have both hands raised to their own ears, fingertips pressed into the fur and pulling the ears slightly down; their posture is hunched in around the gesture, shoulders drawn up, chins tucked. Rin's blonde bob is capped by a large white bow set on the right side of her head, her big blue eyes are wide and sliding sideways toward Len, her mouth pinched small with a guilty wince as though she has just been caught, a blush high on both cheeks. Len's blonde hair is gathered into a ponytail that falls over his right shoulder, his big blue eyes are equally wide, glancing back at Rin from under drawn-together brows, his lips pursed around a whisper, ears flattened halfway by his own hands, blush across the bridge of his nose. Their tails curl low and tight around their hips, tips flicking inward toward each other, the fur along them slightly ruffled. Rin wears a pastel dress in soft mint over cream with a ruffled apron tied at the waist; Len wears a cream shirt with short sleeves and pastel shorts. Between their faces a small breath of space where the whisper passes, one of Rin's hands still on her ear while her chin tips toward Len's cheek. Behind them, out of focus but readable, Hatsune Miku stands with her full weight on her left leg, hip cocked, both arms folded tight across her chest, her head tilted slightly down and to one side; her teal twin-tails hang long past her waist, her bare human ears show plainly on either side of her head with nothing on top of them, and she has one eyebrow arched high over an otherwise flat stare aimed directly at the two children, the corner of her mouth pulled down in a knowing, unimpressed line. Her cozy home dress is a loose pastel lilac wrap that ties at the front. The room is a cozy pastel interior: pale pink walls, a low wooden shelf at the back holding neat pyramids of yarn balls sorted by colour -- mint, butter yellow, lilac, sky blue -- wound in tight even rows, a soft warm window glow from the upper right casting one long slanted shadow of the yarn stack across the shelf and lighting the tops of the children's heads and ears while the shade side of their faces stays cool. No other light source; the corners of the room fall into gentle pastel shadow. The palette holds to mint, cream, butter yellow, lilac and sky blue with the children's blonde hair and blush as the only warm accents. Soft cel-shaded chibi proportions, big heads and small bodies, clean linework, flat pastel fills with one soft shadow tone. Funny, tender.
