1girl, solo, half body, messy hair, messy hair bun, side part, brown hair, brown eyes, flat stare, jitome, half-closed eyes, blowing bubble gum, pink bubble gum, bubble, holding console, handheld game console, oversized clothes, hoodie, brown hoodie, long skirt, cowboy shot, from above, looking up, dutch angle, tilted head, leaning back, arm support, sofa, indoors, soft window light
A half-body cowboy shot from slightly above and canted a few degrees off level: a girl slumps back into the corner of a worn beige sofa, hips slid forward, the whole weight of her upper body propped on her right elbow planted on the armrest cushion, her left leg folded under her. The canted frame tilts the sofa's back cushion behind her shoulder. Her brown hair is a mess — a side part that has given up, loose strands escaping over her ears, and a bun knotted high and slightly off-centre at the back of her skull, half-collapsed, stray wisps hanging across her temple and one long tail of hair fallen free down the side of her neck. Her face is turned up toward the lens but her lids sit at half-mast, brown eyes flat and unimpressed, brows level, no smile at all, cheeks slack; a wet pink bubble of gum swells out from between her lips, glossy, catching a small highlight, at the moment just before it pops. Her oversized brown hoodie swallows her — the shoulders drop well past her own, the sleeves bunch into fat folds at her wrists, the drawstrings hang loose and the hood lies crumpled behind her neck; the long skirt of charcoal-grey fabric spills over her folded knee and off the edge of the seat, its hem pooling on the cushion. Both hands close around a handheld gaming console held up at chest height, thumbs resting on its buttons, the screen tilted away from the camera so only its dark back and edge show; the console is the only hard-edged object in a frame of soft cloth.
Light comes from a window at the left, cool daylight raking across the left side of her face and hoodie, leaving the right side of the bun and the fold of the skirt in warm shadow, and a short soft cast shadow of the console falls across the front of the hoodie. Palette stays in browns and charcoal — brown hair, brown eyes, brown hoodie, grey skirt, beige sofa — with the pink gum the single saturated note. Her stare holds the viewer without warmth, bored and half-lidded. Quietly deadpan.
