Mercedes with plump legs, depicted in full motion, as if she were flying or leaping over a pond. Her body is tilted forward and slightly toward the left side of the image. The torso remains almost horizontal, creating a very strong sense of movement and lightness. Her right arm is fully extended backward, toward the right side of the image, with the hand open and fingers spread. The other arm is closer to the body, partially hidden by her hair, dress, and weapon. One of her legs is held high behind her, bending slightly at the knee. The other leg extends downward and backward, also without the foot resting on the base. Her feet are covered by small white shoes. The complete posture makes it appear as if Mercedes is floating a few centimeters above the scene, rather than simply standing. The open wings greatly amplify this feeling. The composition uses a very marked diagonal: head → torso → legs, while the crossbow introduces another diagonal in the opposite direction. It is a pose designed to make the figure look dynamic even while represented as a statue.
🦋 Wings
One of the most striking elements are her enormous butterfly wings. There are four large wings, two main ones and other smaller areas associated with the design, with an appearance that is:
- predominantly turquoise blue and teal;

- and with a silhouette very similar to the wings of a fantastic butterfly.

Her clothing is dominated by the color green, in accordance with her association with the forest and the Fairy Kingdom.
Dress:
She wears a short, fantastic-looking dress, primarily deep green. The upper part is partially covered by elements of the dress and by her hair, while the skirt features several layers or sections that open around the hips. A very characteristic detail is that the fabric does not fall rigidly: it opens backward and to the sides, reinforcing the impression that Mercedes is moving through the air. There are different shades of green, from dark greens to lighter, yellowish tones, which create a sense of leaves or vegetation.
Sleeves:
On the arms, tight black sleeves can be observed, especially visible on the arm extended to the right.
The contrast between:
- black,
- green,
- yellow/gold,
- turquoise blue
makes the silhouette very recognizable.
Legs and footwear:
The legs are exposed from beneath the dress and have an appearance typical of the fantastic and cartoonish design of Odin Sphere. The feet end in white shoes, simple and small, which contrast with the green tones of the dress.
🌼 Hair and headdress
Mercedes has golden blonde hair, which is quite abundant. It is divided primarily into two large braids that fall on both sides of her face. The braids have several clearly defined segments and end approximately at chest height. On her head, she wears a kind of floral crown or headdress. It is predominantly white and yellow:
- several white flowers surround the top of her head;
- they have yellow centers;
- among them appear small leaves and green elements;
- some yellow/gold details mix with the hair.
This contributes greatly to giving her the appearance of a forest fairy. The flowers on the head are a recurring element of her design and also appear in official representations and figures of the character.

😊 Face and expression
Her face has a clearly Vanillaware anime/fantasy aesthetic. It features:
- a small, rounded face;
- large eyes;
- reddish/orange toned irises;
- very small nose and mouth;
- fair skin;
- a sweet and youthful expression.
Her head is turned slightly toward the viewer while her body is directed in another direction. This is important because it prevents the pose from looking completely rigid: the body seems to move to one side while she directs her gaze elsewhere.
🏹 The crossbow
The enormous weapon appearing on the left is likely the element that contrasts most with the character's delicate appearance. Mercedes uses a Psypher crossbow, characteristic of her design in Odin Sphere. Figure representations of the character include precisely her Psypher crossbow and an arrow with translucent elements.

- the crossbow is very large compared to Mercedes;
- it has a predominantly black structure;
- it features reddish-brown parts;
- it possesses ornamental details;
- it is placed diagonally;
- and at the bottom, a pink/fuchsia crystal appears.
The position of the crossbow also functions as a compositional element: it practically creates a diagonal line from the bottom left corner toward Mercedes, balancing the wings and the body.
🌳 Environment and scenery
This is where the image becomes especially interesting. Mercedes is not simply placed on a circular base: the base represents a small pond within a forest.
💧 Pond
Beneath her is a water surface in tones of:
- dark blue,
- greenish blue,
- green.
It is approximately circular in shape and constitutes the base of the entire scene.
🍃 Water lilies
On the water appear several green water lily leaves. Some are small and others are quite large. Aquatic flowers also appear:
- a pink flower in the bottom left;
- an orange flower toward the right.
This helps give the scene a feeling of a small fantastic ecosystem.
🐸 Frog
In the bottom center is a green frog on a water lily leaf. It is a rather cute detail because the frog is depicted looking toward the viewer and has an almost cartoonish appearance. Its front legs are extended on the leaf and its body partially protrudes from it.
🌿 Vegetation
Behind the frog and the water surface are numerous plants. Observed are:
- large leaves;
- curved stems;
- small sprouts;
- aquatic plants;
- vegetation of different green tones.
To the left, a piece of a tree trunk or branch also appears, around which several botanical elements are found.
All of this makes it seem as if Mercedes is flying over a small pond hidden in an enchanted forest.
