character: ryougi_shiki
1girl, solo, ryougi_shiki (traits), black hair, straight hair, hair just short of shoulders, bob cut ending at the jawline and flaring at the nape, blue eyes, kimono, japanese clothes, dark kimono, white obi sash, long sleeves, bare of accessories, hair completely unadorned, no hair clips, no earrings, from above, from side, looking up, head tilted back, leaning against wall, one knee bent, foot flat against the wall behind her, arms crossed loosely, hands tucked into opposite sleeves, standing on one leg, closed mouth, light smile, half-closed eyes, calm
Seen from above and slightly to one side, she stands with her back against a dark plaster wall in a narrow alley that runs away from the camera, one shoulder pressed to the plaster, her chin lifted so that her face turns up toward the lens and her eyes come up under lowered lids with the calm of someone who has already stopped listening. Her black hair is straight and falls cleanly to just short of her shoulders, the cut skimming above her collarbones and flaring slightly at the nape where it lifts off the wall; the fringe hangs level and unbroken across her brow. She is dressed in a dark kimono of fine weave that reads almost blue-black in shadow, its long sleeves hanging heavy past her wrists, the white obi banded flat across her waist and knotted at the front; nothing at her ears, nothing in her hair.
Her weight sits on her right leg, the hip pushing out to meet the wall; her left knee is bent and drawn up so that the sole of her bare foot rests flat against the plaster behind her, pulling the hem of the kimono into a diagonal fold. Her arms are folded loosely, each hand slid inside the opposite sleeve so that only the line of her wrists shows through the cloth. The wall's cool surface presses a soft shadow into the shoulder of the kimono and blunts the fall of the fabric where it touches.
The light comes from the mouth of the alley behind and above her, one low, cool source raking down the plaster and skimming her hair, so that the top of her head and the tops of her shoulders catch a thin grey sheen while her face is lit only by what bounces off the opposite wall; below her raised foot the alley sinks into a dim brown-black, and her shadow falls away from the camera, lengthened and thin along the ground. The palette holds to black and blue-black cloth, white obi, grey plaster, and the muted brown of the alley floor, with the only warmth a faint rust tone in the brick at the far end.
Dust motes hang visible in the shaft from the alley mouth, drifting slow across the beam where it meets the shadow. Quiet, self-contained.
