The battlefield had finally fallen silent. Every ammunition crate was empty. Every weapon's barrel glowed with residual heat. Her mechanical engines had overheated so badly that their cooling systems were now producing more steam than a locomotive. And the enemy? Gone. Well, not entirely. Scattered groups of enemy soldiers had surrendered, dropping their weapons the moment they realized that one heavily armed maid had single-handedly dismantled their entire advancing army. Some had reportedly lost the will to fight before she even reached their positions. Nobody could blame them. "Good work, everyone! Let's all get along next time, okay?" Nobody answered. Somehow, that was even more frightening than the battle. She stood, brushed the dust from her apron, and began humming cheerfully on her way back to the mansion. Behind her lay a defeated army, a mountain of scrap metal, and the largest military expenditure in the nation's recent history.
