1girl, solo, white hair, long hair, wet hair, syrup on hair, angel wings, white feathered wings, wings dipping into syrup, glowing halo, halo above head, white nun's veil, white coif, nun headdress, silver cross necklace, cross at throat, nude, bare shoulders, bare arms, white bath towel, towel wrapped around body, terrycloth towel, syrup on towel, soaking in syrup, amber syrup pool, thick syrup, glossy syrup, candy piles, cookies, lollipops, fruit, Mexican sugar skulls, jack-o'-lanterns, pool edge, from above, high angle, looking up at viewer, head tilt, half-closed eyes, light smile, blush, wet skin, glossy skin, syrup dripping, steam, warm amber palette, candlelight, intimate, sensual, still water reflection.
Caught from a high three-quarter angle looking down past her shoulder into the pool, the nun fills the lower two-thirds of the frame: she sits hip-deep in a wide basin of thick amber syrup, torso turned a quarter away and head tilted back up toward the lens so her chin lifts clear of the syrup line. The white coif hugs the crown and sides of her skull, the veil falling behind it onto her shoulders; a few strands of wet white hair have pulled loose and lie flat and dark-tipped against her cheek, each carrying a fat amber bead that stretches before it drops. The silver cross rides at the hollow of her throat, polished and catching one hard glint, sitting above the rolled top edge of the white terrycloth towel that wraps her chest and hips, its folds soaked dark and heavy where the syrup has crept up from below, terry loops flattened under a glossy wet skin of syrup.
Her white feathered wings sweep out behind her, the left one raised so its primaries break the frame edge, the right lowered until its feather tips lie in the syrup and the amber creeps up between the barbs, weighting the tips down. The halo floats a hand's width above the coif, a thin ring of warm light that lays a faint golden rim along the top of the veil and her hair and nowhere else.
The syrup is the whole ground: thick, slow, translucent amber that deforms around her hips and thighs with a swollen meniscus and long slow ripples where her knees have shifted, holding a soft darker reflection of her body and a smeared highlight of the halo. It climbs her skin in slow drips and gathers in beads on her shoulder and collarbone.
Packed around the rim of the basin in drifts, behind her and to both sides, are heaps of candy: striped and swirl lollipops leaning at angles, cookies stacked and half-sunk, wrapped sweets, and split fruit — an orange segment, a cut fig, grapes — their juices bleeding into the syrup. Two Mexican sugar skulls sit at the near edge with bright icing flowers across their brows, and two jack-o'-lanterns sit further back, their carved mouths throwing orange light up onto the undersides of the closest candy pile.
Lighting is from the jack-o'-lanterns and the halo together: warm orange underlight from the pool rim grazing the sides of the candy piles and the underside of her jaw, a soft cool falloff from above where the halo's glow picks out the top of her veil and the crest of her cheek; the far background dissolves into dark, unlit air. Palette: amber, ivory, silver and a muted medley of candy reds and oranges. Intimate and sweetly indulgent.
