object focus, no humans, single object, stone tablet shaped like a smartphone, rectangular slab with rounded corners, marble stone body, white and pale grey marble with darker grey veining, gold rune lines, engraved gold inlay, green upside-down triangle shaped gem at the top, pointed tip downward, emerald green gem, gem sphere at the center of the tablet, round carved gem sphere, design piece, seamless studio sweep, from above, dutch angle, three-quarter view, floating, still life, dramatic chiaroscuro
A single object floats in a completely empty deep-charcoal field: a palm-sized tablet cut from white marble in the exact silhouette of a modern smartphone, a flat rectangular slab with softly rounded corners, seen from above and slightly off-axis in a three-quarter view that has been tilted a few degrees into a dutch angle so the slab's long edges run diagonally across the frame. The camera looks down on its broad front face, and the slab is cantilevered in air with nothing beneath it, no hand, no stand, no surface. Its marble is pale white to light grey, its whole face threaded with thin darker grey veins that wander down the slab's length and disappear behind its rounded edge; that edge is thick, visibly a solid block of stone, a few centimetres deep, with a matte honed finish on the sides and a softly polished sheen on the front face. Warm gold rune lines are inlaid into that face in fine engraved channels slightly below the marble's surface: a border of small angular glyph strokes running just inside the slab's perimeter, a coiled knot of gold filigree ringing the central sphere, and two thin gold lines running from that ring up toward the top of the slab. At the top of the slab sits a green upside-down triangle-shaped gem, a flat faceted emerald-green stone cut with three straight edges and a sharp downward-pointing lower vertex, set flush into the marble in a thin gold bezel; a narrow gold stem of inlay connects its point to the rune border beneath it. At the exact center of the tablet sits a carved gem sphere, a polished emerald-green ball seated in a circular gold collar, its highlight a small hard point of light on its upper-left curve, and its lower half carrying a faint green reflection spilling onto the marble around the collar. The tablet casts a short, sharp shadow onto empty air where the light fails beyond its body, so that the darkness below and behind it is absolute; the single hard key light rakes in from the upper left at a low angle, so it strikes the upper-left of the slab and the upper-left facet of the triangle gem, leaves the marble's lower-right in a cool grey falloff, and catches the tops of the gold channels so they read as metal rather than paint, while the triangle gem's downward-pointing lower facet falls dark because the light cannot reach it. The frame is cropped close enough that the tablet fills most of the image with a margin of black around it. Palette is locked to marble white, black ground, warm gold and emerald green, nothing else admitted. Quiet, ceremonial preciousness.
