Ingrid the herbologist, part 9, tribute to Danklaw
Ingrid the Herbologist, Part 9, tribute to Danklaw This is the ninth part of the tribute to Danklaw and his character Ingrid. His work, although fictional, has a strong and believable historical foundation, while this series of tribute images and stories that I am creating for his character are entirely fictional and fantastical, reimagining what this character’s story would be like if she existed in my fantasy world. For more information about the original chapter of Danklaw’s work: https://pixai.art/artwork/1924007772213695613?utm_source=copy_web . I strongly recommend reading Danklaw’s original work. In the case of this tribute I am creating, I will take several liberties regarding the original story, since the situation, the world, and the character as a whole are not exactly the same. As soon as I finished my workday as a professor at the university, I would head to the building of the Royal Association of Herbologists. There, I helped with various duties. On one hand, I assisted with the classification of the different types of herbs that would be sent to the war front. It was vital to identify and organize them with great precision in order to facilitate the work of the herbologists at the front, so they would not have to search for the herbs they needed within a chaotic pile. On the other hand, for certain types of herbs there was also a pre processing phase. Since some plants were extremely difficult and cumbersome to process completely and instantly, the ideal approach was for a large part of the work to be subtly pre processed before reaching the battlefield. In this way, the plants could preserve their properties while at the same time removing all the internal factors that could hinder the procedures carried out by the herbologists during the campaign. This made the processing and refinement phase on the battlefield much easier for them. Last but not least, the complete refinement phase of various medicines was also carried out in the form of supplements. They were designed to treat more universal symptoms such as fever, severe pain, and certain common poisons. Their effectiveness was lower than if they had been processed directly at the front itself, but their existence allowed the campaign herbologists to have more time to treat the severely wounded. The work of the herbologists, as well as that of the clerics, the latter being quite scarce and using divine light to heal, was irreplaceable at the front, but through our own labor we were giving them a helping hand. Once these long workdays were over, unless I stayed awake through the night or worked without rest, I would return to sleep at the family mansion. Other times, I stayed overnight inside the association building itself. And although I ended each day exhausted and drained, deep down, even with all this work, I could not completely escape the feeling that tormented me... To be continued.
