Solo, tasked_genie, pointed ears, colored skin, long fingernails, dark hair, collar, cuffs, turban, jewelry, wisps of smoke, mystical, arabic inspiration, Harim Servant Genie. Harim Servants, and their female counterparts the Selama Servants, are one of the happier breeds of Tasked Genies. As their name suggests, they are essentially a variant of the Guardian Genie that was bred to serve as the protectors of collections of concubines and lesser spouses, whether female or male - this means you see harim servants more commonly than selama servants, because polygyny is more common than polyandry outside of certain circles (like the drow), but the two sexes are identical in their abilities and mindsets. Anyway, harim servant genies resemble tall, muscular, rather plain featured human men or women, and are characterized by their strong paternal feelings towards their charges; they demand respect and won't hesitate to punish unruliness, but they are naturally caring entities who view their charges as surrogate offspring and treat them as such. They genuinely enjoy their work, which consists of both booting out anyone who dares to sneak in and seduce the residents of the harim and caring for the harim's occupants, and they actually enjoy serving in the mortal realms - amongst the boudoirs of the noble genies, the harim genies are regarded largely as menial servants, so they enjoy the greater respect that mortals give them. In fact, they like it so much they usually don't charge much for their services. A typical harim servant genie's daily tasks range quite widely, and they are talented in many domestic and entertainment related skills, liberally spicing up their efforts with the use of the Cantrip spell - what later editions would dub "Prestidigitation". They often double as storytellers, singers, dancers, and comedians, and many pass these skills on to their charges. What a bright nobleman (or woman) should always keep in mind is that this strong emotional bond that a harim servant forms with its charges means it almost invariably comes to emphasize their wants over those of the genie's ostensible master, and this only doubles if their master is cruel or disrespectful to the genie - harming the harim or taking it away can drive a harim servant mad with grief and rage. If truly offended, they may even assist the harim's members in escaping or pursuing affairs, or even become a lover themselves in very unusual circumstances! Genies will respect a harim servant's presence and avoid disturbing its members without the servant's permission - for example, if the harim servant knows that an intruding genie will help a harem member escape an abusive or neglectful harem master for a kinder lover. The few magical abilities of harim servant genies are all intended to be used to protect, entertain, and serve their charges. They can cast a Cantrip, Control Temperature 10' Radius, Mending, and both Minor Creation and Major Creation, all thrice per day, and they can cast Alarm and Create Food & Water once per day, in all cases as a 9th level caster. Solo, tasked_genie, pointed ears, colored skin, long fingernails, dark hair, collar, cuffs, turban, jewelry, wisps of smoke, mystical, arabic inspiration, Architect/Builder Genie. Known either as Architects or Builders, as you can probably surmise, these Tasked Genies are the descendants of dao enslaved for the purpose of constructing buildings, monuments, and edifices of any and all variety. Also for demolishing them, which they have no qualms about doing (though any suitably impressive site they may rebuild on their own terms later). Compared to their poor bastard cousins the Miners, they haven't diverged too greatly from their dao roots in terms of looks; usually, the easiest way to tell a builder genie from a regular dao is the ever-present architect's tools they're carrying and the great big slave ownership brand tattooed on their hand or forehead. They strongly resent their dao cousins, who are the ones who turned them into a slave race in the first place, but sadly they have limited ability to rebel against them; outside of a supernatural ability to spot the weak points in any structure, which makes them truly devastating attaches to siege weaponry and lets them demolish any non-fortified structure if given an hour to study it first, they only have a handful of spell-like abilities to call their own - they can't even pass through earth like their ancestors could! A builder genie can cast Minor Creation, Vacancy, and Warp Wood 3/day each, Stone Shape, Stone Tell, and Passwall 1/day each, and they can grant a Wish once per month - but only if it relates to building or construction in some way. If you've ever heard the myth of genies making palaces or cities spring out of nowhere overnight, it was probably builder genies responsible. Their racial focus on building stuff makes the typical architect genie a hyper-focused workaholic asshole. These guys live for their work; their only worthwhile heritage is being remembered for what they built. As such, they are merciless taskmasters, bluntly spoken and generally abrasive as all fuck. Likewise, they judge other races on their building achievements; they only respect "civilized" races, which are those that can build things like mansions, bridges, or graceful gates. This gives them a soft spot for many giant versions of eusocial insects - a builder genie would think higher of a hive of giant wasps than she would of a kender village or a town of hobbits. The greatest compliment one can pay a builder genie is to admire his work; the greatest insult one can offer is to compliment the builder while criticizing his work. That said, so long as it's constructed well, builder genies don't actually care what they build. They won't hesitate to call out their master if they think his project is stupid - for example, an opulent mansion in the middle of a poor fishing village - but they'll still do it. That said, it's best to try and soothe their egos and watch them carefully at their work; these genies are famous for taking subtle revenge by either bending instructions to suit their whims or being too literal in their obedience. Because of their focus on making every project the ultimate it could be, builder genies will always demand the longest-lasting (and thus the most expensive) materials they can get for it. This quadruples the cost, but does ensure the building also doubles its strength and functional lifespan. Incidentally, architect genies avoid combat, like most tasked genies. Fighting is for other people to do. They'll happily set up defenses like mazes and traps, and they might even selectively collapse a building on determined vandals, but they're really nothing special if you want to pick a fight., exalted_1st_edition_rpg_art_style, black-and-white ink illustration, pen-and-ink lineart, solid black ink shadows, extremely detailed, minimal negative space, western comic-manga hybrid fantasy art

Solo, tasked_genie, pointed ears, colored skin, long fingernails, dark hair, collar, cuffs, turban, jewelry, wisps of smoke, mystical, arabic inspiration, Administrator Genie. As their name suggests, Administrator Genies have been bred to serve as administrators for rulers both mortal and genie in nature; if you need an advisor, a negotiator, or any other sort of bureaucrat, then an Administrator Genie will serve you gladly. They take great pride in their work, whether they exist as humble clerks or personal advisors to a king, but they're also near-universally ambitious; if an administrator isn't already the power behind the throne, then she's working at getting there! They detest violence committed personally, and will usually try to talk their way out of trouble or flee, grabbing a weapon only if they are forced to or they see an opportunity to put a dagger in somebody's back. Unlike other Tasked Genies, administrators are rarely directly bound into service by magic - they have quite an ego, and though they love their work, they do not like being treated as just tools. An unhappy administrator can turn the vital bureaucracy of a business or even an entire city into an utter shambles, and so most people instead prefer to bargain and negotiate for their services, just as if they were regular civil servants. Since they want to work, administrators are implied to rarely charge particular onerous fees outside of the general respect that they feel they deserve, but they do want to be paid well, they strongly insist on a nice set of quarters to live in, and they do like their working environment to be suitably comfortable. Administrator genies, unlike some of the other Tasked Genies, were evolved from two of the greater genie races; the djinn and the marid. Whilst this ancestry does have some lingering effects - some administrators can fly, others can breathe underwater, and they display a distinct preference for either open, airy quarters or personal fountains or other sources of water in their quarters and workplaces - the administrators are very distinctly their own creature now. Regardless of its heritage, an administrator appears as a tall, noble, attractive human whose dark tan skin has a slight bluish cast. They possess limited telepathic abilities, allowing them both to communicate with any creature of at least Low-ranked Intelligence as well as to cast Friends, Tongues, and ESP thrice a day each, and Suggestion 1/day. They are also attended to by permanent unseen servants. Administrators clearly belong to very large families, and some say there are actually only two single clans of administrator genie - one descended from djinn, one descended from Marids - and that these are simply so sprawling and labyrinthine that mere mortals haven't figured it out yet. Whilst multiple administrators may sometimes work in the same bureaucracy, these family ties mostly manifest in the ability of any individual administrator to call on an extensive array of siblings, cousins, uncles, aunts, and more remote relatives for assistance - favor trading is a big part of the administrator's own private culture. Rumor has it that there's actually a fierce rivalry between the Djinn clan and the Marid clan. Perhaps due to the nature of their work, administrators aren't as slaved to their tasks as some Tasked Genies are, and every administrator is looking forward to the day he or she can retire upon achieving a suitable level, usually leaving their role to a child or a particularly favored cousin, niece or nephew upon their departure. Young administrators fill the role of interns and assistants to adult administrators until they get a hang of working like a real administrator should - those who just lack the competence to make this final step either stay stuck riding their boss's tails or get parceled off to particularly stupid and/or offensive mortals, exalted_1st_edition_rpg_art_style, black-and-white ink illustration, pen-and-ink lineart, solid black ink shadows, extremely detailed, minimal negative space, western comic-manga hybrid fantasy art
