Aru's Frustrating Day (Blue Archive)

There's just something irresistibly endearing about seeing Aru from Blue Archive trying so hard to look tough even when she's on the verge of tears. I honestly love this pouty side of her more than anything, and the cozy indoor atmosphere makes me want to reach out and comfort her. If you enjoy this moody style as much as I do, please leave a like and follow for more!

Her spine is curved into a miserable hunch with her knees pressed together, both arms locked rigidly across her chest with white-gloved fingers dug under her forearms. She wears a dark overcoat with a voluminous black fur collar, though its left lapel, sleeve, and hem are drenched in heavy, viscous paint splatters. Beneath, her white collared button-up shirt and dark neck ribbon remain neatly fastened above a pleated black skirt. Her face burns with a wide, humiliated red blush that spans across the bridge of her nose to both cheeks. Her yellow eyes have distinctly undulating, rippled wavy outlines, pooling with heavy glassy tears that tremble at the brims beneath pinched, aggrieved brows. Her lower lip juts out in an exaggerated, quivering pout flanked by puffed cheeks as she glares upward at the viewer. Protruding from her long pastel-pink hair are two large curved demon horns; hooked over the tip of one horn sits a spent paper party popper, its crushed cardboard body tilted askew while a limp, wrinkled paper streamer hangs dead and dangling past her ear. Just above her crown, her glowing geometric halo hovers shattered into several disjointed, dimming angular shards, while a tiny, flat-shaded cartoon thundercloud hovers directly overhead, shedding tiny sketched rain droplets straight down toward her bangs. The floor around her is a landscape of ruin: a wheeled office whiteboard lies completely overturned on its side, castor wheels pointing in the air, its white surface crowded with chaotic red and black marker flowcharts, frantic arrows, and crossed-out notes. A long length of yellow rope snakes in a chaotic, tangled knot across the wooden floorboards, caught under the casters of her chair. Beside it, an overturned metal paint can lies tilted, having disgorged a glossy, opaque puddle that creeps between the seams of the floor planks. The solitary illumination comes from an angled desk lamp off-center, throwing a harsh, warm pool of light across her sulking face, her paint-stained coat, and the wet floor, while cast shadows stretch deep into the background of dark filing cabinets and shuttered blinds. A secondary warm rim light edges her horns and loose pink locks against the ambient gloom. Comically sulky.
