Her feet are planted securely on the ribbed foot treads flanking the recessed bowl, her knees bent sharply upward and spread to steady her balance. Her right hand clutches the gathered fabric of her pleated dark skirt firmly against her knees to keep the hem bundled cleanly above the basin, while her left hand lifts toward her collarbone with fingers curled in a sudden defensive reflex. Her face tilts straight up toward the viewer with wide, luminous multicolored eyes transitioning from violet-purple at the upper iris to brilliant teal at the base, gazing upward with wide-eyed disbelief beneath arched brows and a heavy crimson blush spreading across her nose bridge and cheeks. Long pale grey locks with side hair intakes and bangs parted between her eyes drape over the shoulders of her tailored black cropped jacket and white collared shirt, the ends trailing down past her bent shins. The cubicle is enclosed by cool grey ceramic wall tiles; a wall-mounted stainless steel dispenser holds a roll of toilet paper with a single sheet hanging plumb straight under gravity, and a crisp white overhead tube light casts deep downward shadows beneath her chin, knees, and hair, leaving sharp specular gleams along the glazed porcelain rim. flustered shockC.
