From a slightly high angle, a young woman is seated comfortably in a cushioned armchair, pausing her knitting to look up. Her shoulder-length coral-pink hair is styled with soft fringe across her brow and gathered on one side into a neat, round bun fastened with a small fabric ribbon. She sits with her knees angled slightly together, holding a pair of smooth wooden knitting needles at chest level, loops of pale rose-colored wool caught between the tips while her fingers keep the tension. A partially finished ribbed knit scarf drapes across her lap and folds onto the chair cushion. Looking up directly toward the viewer, her bright emerald-green eyes crinkle slightly with a shy, fond expression, accompanied by a subtle blush across her cheeks and a gentle closed-lip smile. On the polished wooden floor beside the armchair's wooden leg sits an open wicker basket laden with round skeins of wool; a single working strand of yarn pulls taut from the basket directly up into her hands, its tiny fuzzy fibers catching the bright morning rim light. Natural daylight filters through a sheer white curtained window behind her, softly illuminating the room, casting gentle, warm shadows across the folds of her cream cardigan and the textured wool. Cozy and tender.
