character: wailmer, wailord, serilly_(puyopuyo), copyright: puyopuyo solo, 1girl, mermaid, fish tail lower body, blue hair, green eyes, long wavy blue hair tied in a high ponytail, head fins, fin-like ears, white strapless tube top, blue ribbon at the ponytail base, wailmer, wailord, pokemon (creature), two pokemon, large blue whale pokemon, small round blue whale pokemon, from below, wide shot, dutch angle, looking up, outstretched arm, reaching upward, open mouth, :d, bubbles, underwater, sunbeam, god rays, volumetric light, deep blue palette, teal water, caustics Seen from below at a slight dutch tilt, the camera looks up through clear turquoise water at a young mermaid suspended between two vast whale pokemon. She hangs in a loose diagonal line of action, her torso tilted back and her blue ponytail drifting upward and to the right in the current, thin strands fanning off her shoulder; the small fins at her temples and the fin-shaped ears splay outward as the water pushes past them. A white strapless tube top hugs her chest; from the hips down her body becomes a long iridescent fish tail, scales shifting through blue, teal and silver as it curves behind her, the broad fluke sculling slowly at the lower edge of the frame. Her left arm is flung out and up toward the pale surface, fingers spread; her right hand rests along her hip where skin meets the tail's first scales. Her green eyes are wide and fixed upward along her own raised arm toward the light, her head thrown back so her chin points up and her mouth is open in a delighted grin; small bubbles escape the corner of her lips and spiral up past her cheek. Above and to the left, the huge blunt blue body of the larger whale pokemon fills the upper corner, its shadowed belly a dark ceiling over the scene, its tiny eye catching a fleck of light, its ridged mouth line curving away out of frame. To the right and closer to the camera, the round smaller whale pokemon hovers at her outstretched hand's height, buoyant and puffed, one flipper angled toward her fingers so that the two almost touch; her fingertips are just shy of its hide, water disturbed between them. Light comes only from the surface far overhead: shafts of sun break through the water, strike the mermaid's upturned face and the top of the smaller pokemon's head, and rake down her tail in pale bands; everywhere the beams do not reach, the water deepens to near-black indigo. Caustic ripples crawl only across upward-facing surfaces -- her forehead, her collarbone, the round pokemon's crown, the fluke's upper edge -- and fade to nothing along their undersides. The larger pokemon's body casts a soft, shifting shadow that darkens the left half of the frame. The palette is tight: turquoise and deep indigo water, blue and silver on the mermaid and her hair, and the same blue tones carried onto both whales' hides, with the white of her top and the pale gold of the sunbeams as the only breaks. Depth reads in layers -- the sharp small whale and mermaid in the midground, the soft bulk of the great whale behind, the water hazing to black at the corners. Weightless, sunlit, joyful.
