The chevron mouth, often represented as the ":<" expression, is a beloved facial feature in anime-style illustrations depicting a downward-curved mouth. Key elements of this expression include slightly puffed cheeks, furrowed eyebrows, teary eyes, and a distinctive pout conveying mild frustration, sadness, or stubbornness. This emotive detail frequently emphasizes a character's cute, tsundere, or emotionally vulnerable personality traits during casual slice-of-life scenes.
