Low three-quarter angle, tilted into a slight dutch, close on the upper body: the figure leans far forward over the bottom edge of the frame, shoulders rolled in, chin tipped down toward the lens, one bent arm braced so the forearm crosses the nearer waist and her weight sits on that hip, the far leg carrying the rest behind the frame edge. Her head is tilted a few degrees off her neck's axis; one eye is squeezed shut in a wink, the other wide and open aqua, catching the key light, fixed dead on the viewer with the brow above it arched. Her mouth is open in a lopsided grin with one pointed canine showing, tongue tucked at the corner. Long aqua-blue twintails are gathered high on either side of her skull in square-edged hair ornaments at their bases, then fall in two heavy ropes past her hips, and the wind that comes across the frame has already lifted the nearer tail up and outward, so its strands cross the sky in fine, backlit lines while the far tail swings low behind the shoulder. Fine pale strands sit between her eyes and over her forehead. A short necktie hangs off her collar and is being pulled sideways by the same wind at the knot.
Her costume reads in a single shape: bare shoulders lit along their top edges, a sleeveless shirt collar open across the collarbones, the tie dropping over the chest, detached sleeves hugging both upper arms and continuing into long sleeves that end at her wrists, one sleeve pushed into a crease where her bent elbow presses it. The pleated skirt is only a suggestion of folds at the frame's lower edge, its pleats bunched where her hip takes the weight.
Light comes from the upper left, hard and cool, a bright sky-source just outside the frame; it lays a clean rim down the left of her jaw, the side of her nose and the outer edge of the lifted twintail, and the shadowed right side of her face is picked up faintly by the pale ground beneath her. A soft cast shadow from her chin falls onto the column of her throat. Backdrop is a seamless, empty expanse of pale sky blue with nothing in it -- no horizon, no props -- so the only dark in the picture sits in her eyes, the fold of her open collar and the underside of the raised hair. Palette closed to aqua, cream white, black and the pale blue ground: aqua in the hair and eyes, white in the shirt and sleeves, black at the collar, tie and the fine dark edges of her linework, with a single warm flush of coral on the cheekbones and the inner lip.
Hair ornaments stay exactly the two structures at the twintail bases: nothing at her ears, both earlobes bare and unobstructed, and no glasses, no extra jewellery. Where the lifted tail crosses the light, individual strands glow and go transparent at the tips, while the lower tail behind her shoulder stays solid and saturated in shadow -- sky visible through the moving hair but not through the still hair. Playful, bright, wind-whipped.
