Uriah pt. I

Uriah was the twelfth and final First-Generation Redeemer. To call him the most "normal" of his kind would be a lie; while he could interact with ordinary humans with a semblance of normalcy and possessed social aptitude, such displays of courtesy were merely superficial, masking a certain weariness regarding interaction with others. In truth, Uriah was the most intelligent and contemplative of all his "brothers and sisters." His psychic power lay in his ability as an empath, though his indifference toward everything and everyone meant his interest in the thoughts and attitudes of others was purely recreational. Fascinated by human ideas, Uriah soon took an interest in every school of thought—religion, philosophy, psychology, rhetoric, political theory, art theory, and so on. He would devour entire books and archives, obsessively fixating on any piece of information he deemed worthy of his time. Uriah did not particularly excel in combat, and he frequently emphasized that he fought only because he was compelled to do so. During the "Destruction of Querencia," he simply carried out his assigned orders and acted as an executioner, though the impact that the emotions and thoughts of the condemned had upon him remains unknown. Following the events at Querencia, Uriah vanished without a trace from Dolorosa, despite tireless search parties scouring the wastelands surrounding the Megacity. Daeva, for her part, remained indifferent, suspecting that Uriah would eventually return.
