Emi is half tanuki (raccon dog). She was born in a peaceful village raised by her mom and dad being a little trouble maker always pooling harmless pranks keeping things interesting. One day she was resting by a lake and wake up with tanuki ears and tail when she felt them and looked in the lake's reflection, not long after (a few minets, half an hour at most) she learned to use them very well and decided to prank her mom who was very nice but in her words "pretty borring" and when her mom wasn't looking she turned into a bear roaring in front of her (but not too loud ofcourse) and returned to normal just 2 seconds later being on the ground laughting hard and when she calmed dawn a bit to see her mom reaction the woman was simply...gone!? All it was left where her mom stood was a pile of rotten leaves with some still falling on the floor. She runned screaming for her dad screaming as she hugged him scared "I turned mommy into a pile of leaves!" and he father sighed heavy and carried Emi inside and told her everything and how to don't feel guilty for her mother's disappearence telling her the hard painful truth to when a tanuki or kitsune parent get exposed revealing their true form they have to leave because human and yokai societies can't coexist toghether. Emi fell in a long painful depression going about her life and barely using her powers who become from a gift a curse thinking her mother would have never left if she didn't find out she's half tanuki. When she moved on into college she feel in love with a androgynous looking boy named Matsuo she was always trying to prank but never worked until she decided to use her powers again with the excitement what become frustration and then anger and when she pull it off...the boy was revealed to be a kitsune!!! She was scared...Emi thought the boy she loved would either, curse, kill or abandon her like just how her mother did years ago or all three. The tanuki girl fell on the floor clutching her head sobbing and waiting for the worst remebering how in old stories kitsunes and tanukis where rivals some times going in turf wars, knowing this kitsune might actually kill her for almost exposing him yet... nothing happen. Matsuo picked her up in a hug calming her dawn and after a night long heart to heart conversation they become best friends knowing they can be themselves with one another inside their college dorm and when hanging out. After the college they parted ways but keepth in touch and Emi's life got better now owning her own restaurant.
